A Glimmer of Truth from the Liars Den ...

A Story in the making ...

During the past several months we have been investigating the process on the Georgia State Flag issue. This is House Bill 380.

At Governor Perdue's direction the bill originally introduced in the House as a two part referendum on Our State Flag. This bill, as introduced would have settled Our State Flag issue. It allowed a vote on the Barnes rag, the pre-56 and Our TRUE State Flag.

With a Republican controlled senate, we were very surprised that Sonny decided to start the process in the House! If the intention had been to place this issue in front of the People for a vote, it would have made more sense to introduce the bill in the Senate.

Anyway, we all know that on the very last day and literally at the last hour of the session, the referendum on Our State Flag was REMOVED.

We intend to publish the most accurate account possible of what happened starting in Issue 11.

As this is a story in the making, we thought that you might be interested in some of the interview requests we are making, and the response or lack of from the recipients. One thing my Father always taught me is that you can tell as much from a lack of response sometimes as you can from getting one.

Mrs. Cromer,

I am the editor of The Truth Newspaper, a new startup monthly in Toccoa. We are doing a series on the legislative process concerning the budget and tobacco tax. We would like to do a telephone interview (or in person) with the representative of the governor's staff that participated in the meeting concluding around 9:00 PM on the last day of the Session that resulted in the passage of both the budget and tax increase.

Thank you very much for your time and consideration.

Sincerely,
Mike Crane

Lauren,

I have not received a reply from Mrs. Cromer. She may just be swamped from being out of the office.

If you will send me her contact info I will communicate with her direct.

Thanks for your assistance.

 Lauren,

I am not sure if you are the appropriate person to send this request to. If not would greatly appreciate letting me know who the proper contact would be.
